LAKE HOUSE
West Somerset - Class Q Fallback
We were appointed in 2020 to secure planning permission for a new dwelling within the open landscape of Somerset using the class Q fallback. The proposed design is carefully considered to ensure a low visual and environmental impact, blending sensitively with its rural surroundings.
We sensitively replaced an old agricultural building with this modern, single-story dwelling, harmonising with its surroundings and incorporating spectacular views.

Our home incorporates passive design techniques and generates its own energy via PVs, which reduces the occupant’s fuel bills. A single-storey dwelling, it includes airtight, yet breathable, high-performance walls and roofs, insulated with sheep's wool and wood fibre.
