This project presents itself as an opportunity to restore a former Constitutional Club as a place of renewed cultural significance. An architecture of mixed use that honours its historic legacy while embedding new layers of community value. A paradigm of shared space that celebrates performance, learning, and living, whilst maximising the potential of the site to support both future growth.
The site layers together multiple periods of construction, with with an arched linkage recognised as Grade II listed. Each buildings carry significant architectural and cultural weight, defined by crafted stonework, the oculus window, and decorative detailing. Internally, the Hall’s soaring timber trusses create a dramatic structural rhythm, while the Chantry reveals fine proportions, generous openings, and historic detailing. Together these elements express the civic grandeur of the site and stand as qualities worthy of careful repair and celebration.
